Write for us
We welcome pitches that help readers see a specific matchup, role, space or condition more clearly. A strong proposal starts with a focused question and explains what a reader will be able to notice afterward.
What to propose
Send an original idea about the contests within sport: how a particular pairing works, how team shapes interact, or how a condition changes the choices in play. We welcome clear explainers and comparisons grounded in observable details. Avoid pitches that rely on unsupported claims, predictions or a single example standing in for every match.
Make the pitch specific
Describe the central question, why it is worth a reader's attention, the sport or situation involved, and the main points you would cover. Mention the terms that may need explaining and how the piece will distinguish observation from interpretation. Keep the proposal concise and tell us if the work has been published or offered elsewhere.
How to send it
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. A pitch is not a promise of publication, and we may ask questions or suggest a narrower angle before deciding whether it fits.
